By using thread as a drawing tool she really creates a unique and visually pleasing effect. In using the threads she tries to express more about the person depicted. Subtle color pallet always seems to be used in her work.
I offically have fallen in love with this girls work. How pretty is it! I love how it is collages using an array of differnet material such as paint drawing and also using computer software. The subtle areas of color set against grey and black areas really make the different pieces come alive.
These are a collection of designs I did for my CAD lesson at university. I took inspiration from leading wallpaper designers such as Laura Ashley, Osborne and little and John Lewis. By using a delicate pallet of subtle colors my designs would apeal to a wide audience and fit well into the market of today.
Was mad rushing round getting my Christmas presents on Saturday in Manchester and decided I am never ever going shopping on a Saturday again! During the bustling of people I and came across this Harvey Nichols window display. It really cheered me up I just thought it was so beautiful and really got me in the Christmas mood. It must have taken so long to make this display as each little house would have been individually made. Harvey Nichols always has really eye catching displays for every season. I would love if in the future my job was to commission window displays!
Ok so we have all seen his work and we all love it but I bought my 10th Marks and Spensers bag the other day and it brought the rush back that I always get from David Downtowns work. He has worked for so many differnt big names it is not surprising that he is so reconisable. He has comissioned illistrations for films, he did the final drawings for the Golden Age of Couture exhibition aswel as drawing for various other big names such as Harrods, Fenwick and Marks and Spensers. When I am stuck on drawing techniques to do in my own sketchbook I always refer back to his work to get my inspiration going again.
I was looking through some of my old sketchbooks and came across some artists and illistrators I had completle forgot about. The images above are by the artist Erin Petson. She works using a combination of drawings and collage and I myself work in this way aswel. Her subtle use of colours and mark making really set her pieces alice and I also really liked her use of space.
